Squeaky door hinges

This is a common household problem. Squeaky door hinges can be irritable. You can spray some WD-40, a special lubricant, on the hinges while moving the door back and forth so that the lubricant gets in. You can also try to rub the hinges with petroleum jelly. If this doesn’t work, then lift the hinge pins a little and lubricate them.

Hard-to-remove decals

Spray some WD-40 around the affected area. Lift the edges underneath so that the lubricant gets in. Let is sit for sometime, then scrape away the decal gently. De-grease the tub with liquid dishwashing soap afterwards.

Stuck sliding windows

Put some silicone spray lubricant. This will grease the skids. Then spray this onto a rag and wipe along the tracks. This will help to move the sliding windows.

Stained tub

You can mix equal amounts of cream of tartar and baking soda along with lemon juice and make a paste. Rub this paste into the stain with a soft cloth or with your fingers. Leave it for half an hour and then rinse it off with water.

Squeaky floor

You can temporarily fix the problem by sprinkling some talcum powder on the noisy area and sweep it into the cracks. Don’t forget to remove the traces of powder, else you may fall off.
